Mentor Application
Dear AFP Member:
The
North Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals is initiating a mentoring program, and we are
asking for your support and involvement as a mentor. Applications
for mentees will be distributed mid-January.
This chapter enjoys a diverse membership of seasoned
fundraising professionals and we would like to match them with people new to the field, or those
transitioning job responsibilities through a formal
mentoring program for our members. The Mentoring
Committee will determine the Mentor/Mentee matches based
on goals, interests, and experience. The pairs will be
expected to meet at least four times a year for two hours
per meeting, plus a minimum of four hours via phone and/or
email, with the goal of monthly contact.
There will be a check-in by
the committee at three to six months to
assess the match progress, and to address any concerns that
may arise. The mentor will be asked to keep a simple log of
meetings and general discussion topics as a guide for future
program evaluation. Matches are for one year, but may be
extended informally if desired by both parties.
If you are interested in
becoming a mentor, please read the Mentoring Program
Guidelines, located
here, and
we ask that you complete the
online application by clicking
here.
There will also be a special
program kickoff program in early March, with details to follow, where the matches
will be announced and the program will continue until
December 31st.
If you have any questions,
please contact Laura at 330-487-0333. We look forward to your participation in this
important project.
Regards,

Laura K. Shank, Chair, AFPNCOH Mentoring Project |
