About Dr. Robert & Rochelle Stone:
Dr. Robert and Rochelle Stone have been an example of philanthropy at its finest in Akron for many years. As a physician in private practice, Dr. Stone serves as a member of the Akron Children's Hospital Board of Trustees and was named Pediatrician of the Year in 2002. Rochelle has been a member of the Akron Children's Hospital Women's Board since 1988 and is currently President-Elect. She has also received the prestigious United Way Distinguished Service Award.
In addition to Rochelle being a founding member of Mobile Meals, Bob and Rochelle have generously supported the agency for many years. They have supported one another and worked together as a couple ... giving of their time and talent volunteering in various capacities for many charitable agencies and organizations. These include: Akron Children's Hospital, United Way of Summit County, Jewish Family Services, Beth El Congregation, Jewish Community Board of Akron, Hadassah and the Annual Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign. They have also supported these groups with generous financial commitments.
Bob and Rochelle have been married since 1959 and have three children. They are both dedicated and unassuming. Their time and financial support is part of who they are. Rochelle says she is happy to be a “professional volunteer” and quick to say that she and her husband have received much as a result of their giving.
