About Joy Timken and Karen Belden:
Born and raised in Canton, Karen Belden is married to Bill, Chairman of the Board of Belden Brick Co., has two grown sons and six grandchildren. She started her volunteer career in high school and has continued it most of her life. Moving back to Canton in 1968, she became involved with the Junior League and United Way. From there she did fund raising for many non-profit organizations. Her last two endeavors were to chair an $8,000,000 capital campaign for Stark State College and co-chair a Diocesan Campaign at her church, St. Michael, to raise $1.5 million.
Joy Timken’s community involvement surrounds social services and the arts. She has current or past board memberships with many organizations including: Canton's Cultural Center for the Arts, Canton Museum of Art, Salvation Army, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Stark County, Quest Recovery & Prevention Services, United Way of Greater Stark County and the Women's Board of Aultman Hospital. Her pet project is the Quest Cooks! fundraiser. She is married to Jack Timken and has three children and seven grandchildren. She strives to continue the ongoing legacy of her family's commitment to Canton and to give her time and financial resources to improve the quality of life so that Stark County continues to grow and thrive.
Recently, both Karen and Joy helped Quest Recovery & Prevention Services by organizing a dinner auction which raised $190,000 for the organization.
