About Mr. Maynard:

Philip H. Maynard is chairman of ASW Services which operates affiliated businesses in logistics, real estate and material handling. Maynard, born and raised in Akron, Ohio, graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School, and majored in political science while attending Kent State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Intelligence Agency in 1963 and spent the next four years in the Far East during the Vietnam conflict. In 1967, he enrolled at The University of Akron to complete his education.

While attending The University of Akron, Maynard worked as a dock worker for Akron Storage & Warehouse Co., and progressed through various positions including: warehouse supervisor, warehouse manager, general manager and assistant to the president. In 1981, he purchased Snyder Distribution Centers, Inc., and in 1983 changed the name to Akron Storage and Warehouse. ASW Services. Inc. as the company is now known, consists of several affiliated businesses including: ASW Logistics, Inc., ASW Technologies and ASW Properties, Inc, operating several locations in the greater-Akron area and Michigan (greater-Detroit).

ASW Services was featured in the January 1992 Wall Street Journal for its role in the growth of the Akron region's polymer industry. In 1991 Maynard received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Archbishop Hoban High School, and in 1992 the "Entrepreneur of the Year" Award from the Small Business Council of the Akron Regional Development Board as well as the "Award of Appreciation" from the Village of Mogadore. In 1995, his company received the prestigious "Eagle Award" from FirstMerit Bank for outstanding economic contributions to the Northeast Ohio region. In 1999, Maynard received the University of Akron Alumni Honor Award. Maynard was honored as 2000 Executive of the Year by the Sales & Marketing Executives Association of Akron. In July of 2004, the International Warehouse Logistics Association presented him with the prestigious designation of Certified Logistics Professional (CPL) denoting individuals who have set standards of excellence and professionalism throughout the third party logistics industry. Maynard is chairman of Akron Children's Hospital Board of Trustees, past-chairman of Archbishop Hoban High School Board of Trustees; past-chairman of the Ohio Warehouse Association and of the International Warehouse Logistics Association; a trustee of the Leadership Akron Board, Center for Non-Profit Excellence, Interval Brotherhood Home, Akron Children's Hospital Foundation Board, University of Akron Foundation Board and the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce Board Executive Committee, First Friday Club of Akron and Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation Board. Community activities include his support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Interval Brotherhood Home, East Akron Community House, Haven of Rest Missions, Open M, Heart to Heart Communications, Hospice of Summa/Visiting Nurse, Boy Scouts, Young Life, and many more.

He is also chairman of The Maynard Family Foundation, a charitable, non-profit entity formed in 1993 to coordinate the charitable efforts of all of his companies and personal holdings. Maynard and his wife live in Green and have two daughters and four grandchildren. He and his family attend Nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ Church in Uniontown, Ohio.
